facility policy

All visitors to The Farmer’s House are required be registered and must complete a facility and site waiver. Failure to register or submit a completed waiver could mean a cancellation of your booking without notice. Unregistered visitors will lead to an immediate cancellation of your booking.

All use of the facilities on site (pool, hot tub, sauna, trails, farmhouse) are all use at your own risk.  The Farmer's House will not be held liable for damage or injury.

Guests are granted use of the pool for 2 hours of each day of their stay.  Please notify us of your desired time at least 24 hours in advance.  We also offer 3 hour sessions, if you choose to forego you Sunday morning swim. We require a minimum of 3 hours to get the hot tub up to temperature.  Please bring proper floatation devices for children.  An adult (age 21+) must be present at all times when children are in the pool room. There is no lifeguard.  Use at your own risk.

Use of alcohol or drugs in the pool room/hot tub/sauna is prohibited.

Heat from the sauna and hot tub expands your blood vessels and increases your body temperature. So does alcohol. This can lead to heat exhaustion that can trigger unconsciousness, or even a stroke or heart attack. Symptoms include confusion and dizziness, fainting or fatigue, headache, nausea, extreme sweating and rapid heartbeat and elevated body temperature.

weather and road closures

Here in Grey County, winter storms can be very extreme. Strong winds and snow squalls are common during the winter season. The Farmer’s House is not responsible for weather related issues. If roads are open we cannot offer any changes to your booking. If the roads are closed (must be closed by the municipality) on your check in day we will either work with you to transfer your booking to another available weekend, or your booking will be cancelled and a refund issued. If the roads are closed by the municipality on the last day of your stay, we will offer you an extra night’s stay (no pool access) at no extra charge. Once the roads reopen, guests will be asked to vacate the farmhouse as as soon as possible (immediately between 9am-8pm). Be prepared to drive in snowy conditions! It is highly recommended that all winter visitors have dedicated winter tires and all-wheel or four-wheel drive equipped vehicles.

pet policy

Renters are responsible for any damage caused to the farmhouse or its contents by their pets during their stay.  Renters agree that a reasonable replacement/repair fee will be charged to their credit card if damage should occur.

Pets are to be kept on leash on the groomed portion of our property.  Renters are asked to avoid walking their pets around the main house, so as to avoid causing our own pets discomfort.

As we have our own dogs, (one being reactive) we ask that a line of communication (texting) is maintained during your stay so that each of our pets can enjoy its time outdoors. We have a standard schedule where we run our dogs in the lower part of the property (not visible to the farmhouse) twice per day, and are happy to adjust this timing if it interferes with your plans. We ask that your pets be indoors during these two 15-20 minute runs (8am and 4pm) that our dogs count on each day. As a precaution, and to avoid interaction, we will text you before letting our dogs out.

If your pet is off leash, on the other portions of the property, or on the trail systems, please understand that there are risks such as wild animals, other dogs, atvs, holes, cliffs and thorn bushes that could potentially harm your pet.  Please use caution, and only allow your pet off leash if they are fully trained with excellent recall.  Pets are prohibited from interaction with any local livestock located around the property.

Please use the dog beds or provided pet blankets if you allow your dogs on the furniture. It is appreciated that you ensure your pet’s paws are clean before you allow them into the farmhouse.

PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE INDOOR POOL.
